Creating a Stock License and Transferring It to a Customer Account

This document walks you through the process of creating a stock license from the stock page, and then transferring a specific number of those licenses to a customer account, step by step.

Step 1: Start the purchase process from the stock page

To create a stock license, head over to the stock page and click the purchase button.

Step 2: Choose contract and account

Pick the contract you want to use from the list, then select your own account.

Step 3: Select the product and quantity to stock

Choose the product you want to stock and enter the quantity you want in the relevant fields.

After filling in the details, save your changes and move on to the next step.

Step 4: Review stock details and complete the purchase

On the next screen, review the quantity you entered and check the details for this stock. Remember, this stock should be used within one year. Once you’re done checking, confirm the purchase.

This process, for example, will create a stock of 100 licenses.

Step 5: Transfer licenses from stock to a customer account

To move a certain number of licenses from your stock to a customer, go to the relevant stock movement screen.

Select the customer account and make sure you’ve picked the correct one for the transfer.

Enter the number of licenses you want to transfer (for example, 10).

Check the updated stock status and preview the licenses that will be transferred to the customer.

Step 6: Confirm the start and result of license transfer

Make sure the licenses are active right away and that the transfer was completed.

At the end of the process, confirm that the number of licenses you chose (for example, 10) have been successfully transferred to the customer account.

Things to consider while moving licenses

  1. Customer package and license must match. You can't move a professional license to a starter customer.

  2. You can't move licenses to trial customers.

  3. Stock life does not reset for the licenses that moved to sub-reseller stock.
