Buying a New Device Product and Creating a License
This guide walks you through how to buy a new device product through the system: choosing a contract and account, picking the product and quantity, using stock if available, adding an order note, and, at the end, previewing the licenses that will be created based on your choices before finishing the purchase.
Step 1: Start the Purchase from the Active Tab
Click the "Buy" button in the "Active" tab to start buying a new device product.
Step 2: Select the Contract to Use
Pick the contract you want to use for this purchase from the list. Once you select it, the details for products linked to that contract will automatically show up on the screen.
Step 3: Choose and Save the Account
Select the account you want to use for the new license/product from the list and save your choice. This step sets which account the purchased products will be tracked under.
Step 4: Select the Product
From the product list, pick the device product you want to buy. Check the row for the product you want and continue to the next step.
Step 5: Enter the Quantity and Order Note
Choose how many licenses/devices you want to create for this product.
If you have any special notes about the order (like delivery details, invoicing, internal info, etc.), add them in the note field.
Step 6: Decide Whether to Use Stock
If the system has suitable products already in stock, it gives you the option to use them. At this point, you can:
Choose to use available stock, or
Go ahead with a brand new purchase without using stock.
For now, select "I want to make a new purchase" to continue with a new order.
Step 7: Preview and Complete the Purchase
On the preview screen, check:
Which account the product will be assigned to,
The contract conditions,
The start and end dates for the licenses/devices,
to make sure everything looks right.
Once you’ve confirmed the details are correct, click the "Buy" button to finish the process.
With this, you'll be adding 3 more licenses to the 10 existing ones set to expire this month.
Limitations
Active Contract: Resellers must have an active contract to create licenses.
Permission Restrictions: You must have the permission to create licenses under the desired active contract.
Products: The creation of new licenses is limited to the products added under the respective contract.
