What is a line-up?

A line-up in the context of license management allows users to align the expiration dates of multiple licenses to a common term, facilitating simplified renewals and unified management.

Who can benefit from line-up licenses?

Line-up licenses are offered selectively; please contact us if you are interested in exploring this option for your account.

How do you create a line-up license?

  • Go to Licenses.

  • Click on Create.

  • If your selected contract has line-up enabled, you will see an extra toggle for line-up.

  • After this, you can select the term you want to line-up your new license. You have two options:

    • Either you can line-up to an existing licenses end-date in that account.

    • Or you can select the term from your Contracts.

  • When you select the Line-up reference, you will see an information on the license preview. Check the license duration and end-date here.

What happens after creating a line-up license?

  • You can view the line-up duration in license list and detail.

  • When it is renewed, line-up licenses renew in their full duration.

Exceptions

  • 1-month and lifetime licenses can't be aligned.

  • Line-up duration must be shorter than original license duration. You can't line-up for 16 months if your license is 12 months.

  • Roll-out duration is also included while calculating line-up duration. (a normal 6-months line-up would be 4-months if you have 2-months roll-out)

  • Stock licenses can't be lined-up.

  • We don't support line-ups while upgrading trials currently.

  • Line-up only works on new license creations. You can't line-up in a renewal.
